Here are the top stories in Manchester today:
- Crystal Lake beach was closed yesterday after the Manchester Department of Health discovered high levels of bacteria, local officials said. High levels of E. coli were found in water samples taken on Monday July 11, forcing the Department of Health to close the beach to swimmers. The Ministry of Health will take samples again on Tuesday July 12, with the results being made public on Wednesday. (Manchester ink link)
- New learning centers for students enrolled in online learning programs are opening in Manchester and Dover. KaiPod Learning, a startup that launched last year in Newton, Mass., offers “in-person spaces” for students to work on their studies, receive one-to-one tutoring, and socialize with other students during the school day. CEO and Founder Amar Kumar said the learning centers are for students in grades 3 through 12 enrolled in online learning programs. Learning centers will also have activities, such as art and yoga.
