PMK urges TN government to ban online gambling

Chennai, July 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) PMK State Chairman Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss has called on the Tamil Nadu government to announce a date for banning online gambling in the state.

In a statement on Sunday, the PMK chief said 12 days have passed since the expert committee that looked into the harmful effects of online gambling issued its report.

He said there were reports in the media that the state cabinet discussed the report and gave a green signal for a ban on online gambling. The PMK leader pointed out that there was no response from the government after this and called on the chief minister to take immediate action to ban online gambling.

Dr Ramadoss said if online gambling is not banned immediately it will result in the loss of many lives as well as social and economic disaster for several families. He called on the state government to immediately prepare an ordinance to ban online gambling and the state cabinet must give permission.

The PMK leader said that even murders are taking place due to online gambling and said that despite the Chief Minister’s assurances, online gambling is rampant in the state. He also pointed out that even many housewives have lost their lives due to the loss of money due to online gambling and wondered why the government is waiting more days to issue an ordinance against online gambling.
